1. What HonestWorld is
HonestWorld is a product label transparency tool. It analyses publicly available product information, including ingredient lists, nutrition data and marketing claims, and produces a transparency score based on our independent analysis methodology. HonestWorld is not a medical app, a nutritional guidance service, or a food safety inspector. Our scores represent our analytical opinion about marketing transparency, not statements about product safety or health suitability.
2. Scores and analysis
All transparency scores represent our opinion, not objective facts.
- A low score does not mean a product is unsafe, harmful, or illegal
- A high score does not mean a product is recommended or endorsed by HonestWorld
- Scores may change as more accurate product data becomes available
- HonestWorld is not affiliated with any brand, manufacturer, or retailer
- Always verify product information directly on the label before making decisions
3. Not medical or professional advice
Nothing in HonestWorld constitutes medical, nutritional, dietary, or professional advice. Health alerts and allergy warnings are based on ingredient keyword matching and are informational only. If you have a medical condition, food allergy, or dietary requirement, always check product labels and consult a qualified professional. HonestWorld takes no responsibility for decisions made based on app information.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Make false or defamatory claims about any product or company using the app
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or reproduce our scoring methodology
- Use the app for any commercial purpose without written permission
- Attempt to access, modify, or interfere with our database or backend systems
- Use automated tools to scan or scrape data from the app
5. User-contributed data
By using the app, you grant HonestWorld a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and use anonymised scan results to improve the product database for all users.
6. In-app purchases and Supporter access
All purchases are processed by Google Play.
- Supporter access is tied to a recovery code — not an account or email
- Keep your recovery code safe to restore access on a new device
- Refunds are governed by Google Play policy
- We reserve the right to change features with reasonable notice
7. Intellectual property
The HonestWorld name, logo, shield mark, scoring methodology, and all app content are owned by HonestWorld and protected by copyright and trademark law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HonestWorld and its developer are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
9. Disputes with third parties
HonestWorld produces analytical opinions about product marketing transparency. Scores are protected expression under applicable law. HonestWorld is not responsible for commercial or reputational effects on any product or brand.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
